External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj met Nepal's Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bamdev Gautam here on Sunday.
After the meeting she visited the Pashupatinath Temple.
Swaraj is here to attend the third meeting of the Nepal-India Joint Commission, which is being held after 23 years. She has already held talks with her Nepalese counterpart, Mahendra Bahadur Pandey to boost ties between the two nations.
Swaraj's trip was also to prepare the ground for a visit next month by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Nepal.
On Saturday, she had met the top political leadership of Nepal and held parleys with Nepal's President and its Prime Minister, Ram Baran Yadav and Sushil Koirala respectively.
