Tejpal case: Three witnesses depose in Goa court

Police also expect to record the statement of Shoma Chaudhury this weekend

Three witnesses in the Tarun Tejpal sexual assault case Friday recorded their respective statements in a Goa court before a judicial magistrate, officials said.

Ishan Tankha, G. Vishnu and Shougat Dasgupta -- all employees of the Tehelka weekly news magazine who have resigned since the incident -- were the people in whom the victim confided soon after she was sexually assaulted by Tejpal in an elevator of a five-star hotel in Goa.

Police also expect this weekend to record the statement of Shoma Chaudhury, managing editor of the weekly, who has since resigned.
