Andhra Pradesh chief minister, N Kiran Kumar Reddy, has decided to increase the wage employment from 100 to 150 days to rural households under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. He is likely to make a formal announcement in this regard in a day or two.

Andhra Pradesh stands first in the country in the implementation of MGNREGS. The state has spent Rs 3,854 crore on the programme, according to an official press release here on Friday.
