| Asked whether the society had formally submitted its proposal with the Punjab government, Berlia denied the same and said the talks were still at a preliminary stage. |

| "Since we are specially attached to Punjab, we would like to establish the university here only if the conducive environment is provided by the state government" she added. |

| She said the response to the Indo-Pak trade fair held at Amritsar had been luke-warm, since it was the beginning of a new chapter and Pakistani traders had faced some problems in obtaining a visa, but this time such problems would be looked after. |
