Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy said his government would soon send proposals to the Centre for setting up a second port-cum-ship building project in Andhra Pradesh.
“We are currently studying the central technical committee suggestions in this regard,” he said while elaborating on the government’s initiatives to promote investments in industry as well as infrastructure sectors. Currently, a shipbuilding unit is in operations at Visakhapatnam while the government is in the process of identifying a suitable location for the second such project.
Addressing the Independence Day parade on Wednesday, Reddy said his government was committed to developing the farm sector with adequate resources for expanding irrigation facilities in addition to providing access to credit at zero interest rate for farmers.
