The Delhi BJP is keen that Varun Gandhi, the new-found poster boy of the saffron brigade, campaign for its candidates in the national capital if he is released from jail before the end of the canvassing.
Gandhi is presently lodged in a jail in Uttar Pradesh under the NSA for inciting communal tensions which may result in him being under detention for upto one year.
"The party is very keen on having Varun as one of the star campaigners. It will boost the morale of the cadres and will definitely help our candidates," a senior party leader told PTI.
He said senior leaders like party's prime ministerial candidate L K Advani, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and General Secretary Arun Jaitley will also campaign in the national capital.
