Swine flu claimed eight more lives across the country raising the total number of deaths to 359 till now.
Altogether 185 fresh swine flu infections have also reported, taking the total number of positive cases to 11,253 in the country, the Union Health Ministry said.
During the day, four deaths were reported from across the country with one each from Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat, two from Maharashtra.
"In addition, laboratory confirmation of one death from Andhra Pradesh, two from Maharashtra and one from Karnataka have also been received from the respective State Health departments, and are now reflected in the cumulative total," a ministry official said.
He said samples from 47,145 people have been tested for Influenza H1N1 in government laboratories and a few private laboratories across the country and 23.8 per cent of them have been found positive.
