Feb 26 as Irrigation Day in Maharashtra

The Maharashtra government has decided to observe February 26 every year as 'Irrigation Day' in the state, in memory of late leader SB Chavan.

Chavan, is credited with taking several policy decisions to improve irrigation facilities in the state.
