Four states to get first installment of NLRMP funds

Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Meghalya and Kerala will be among the first states to receive installments of the Central fund for computerization of land records and other related works under National Land Record Modernisation Programme (NLRMP) in the current financial year.

The Ministry of Rural Development has sanctioned Rs 80.2678 crore as first installment to these states for implementation of the Centrally-sponsored programme for the year 2009-10, a release from the ministry said today.

The sanctioned grant is meant for spending on computerization of land records including inter connectivity among revenue offices; computerization of registration process, offices and record rooms; and for carrying out survey or resurvey.

Madhya Pradesh will get Rs 40.1618 crore of the total sanctioned grant of Rs 53.5491 crore for its 10 districts while West Bengal will receive Rs 32.6454 crore of the total Rs 43.5271 crore for nine districts.

Kerala will get Rs.5.5374 crore of the total sanctioned amount of Rs 7.3831 crore for implementing NLRMP in Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur and Mallapuram districts, the release said.

It added, Meghalaya will be getting Rs 1.9232 crore of the total sanctioned amount of Rs. 2.5643 crore for implementing NLRMP in East Garo Hills and Ri Bhoi districts in the state.
