Gujarat Chemical Port Terminal Company (GCPTCL) has called for offers from parties to have land within the company's premises at Dahej near Bharuch.

S K Anand, managing director of the company, said: "GCPTCL is offering 32 hectares on sub-concessional rates to outside parties who would be interested in developing the land space by putting-up additional tankage facilities within the GCPTCL premises to cater to their specific requirements of imports, exports & storage of chemical products, oils, etc., in liquid/ gaseous forms. The parties have to submit their offers by end of June.

He added that, of the 139 hectares area of the GCPTCL project, a green belt has been developed on over 39 hectares. Of the balance 100 hectares, the land occupied/already developed for the existing infrastructure of port & storage terminal is 68 hectares. The rest is being offered to outside parties.

"We have received many offers from manufacturers, importers, exporters etc. and the value of the offered land would be worked out in due course ," Anand said.

Strategically situated at Dahej, in central Gujarat, GCPTCL - India's only specialised and dedicated port designed to handle large volumes of petroleum products, cryogenic & gaseous cargo, hazardous chemicals, etc., can berth vessels of up to 60,000 dwt and store more than 300,000 cubic metres of various products, he said.

GCPTCL is confident of achieving many such milestones and be numero uno port and terminal facility for liquid and gaseous cargo in the country within next few years.
