Just when people thought the rules for withdrawal of new or exchange of old currency notes had been fixed for good, the government today announced a new set of rules. The change in rules is explained here.

The government announced that it was allowing withdrawal to the tune of Rs 2.5 lakh in cash from bank accounts to help people fund their wedding. As it added exceptions and fixed more limits on withdrawal; it led to much mirth on Twitter.

A user remarked that given the frequent change in rules, a real time app was needed to track the latest rules

Another remarked on how RSS may oppose the new rules regarding withdrawal of money for marriage

Could the new rules lead to getting hitched? One user sure thought so

Former BJP minister, B Janardhan Reddy's daughter got married in Bengaluru recently and the wedding is rumoured to have cost Rs 500 crore. That drew comparisons with the latest withdrawal limit of Rs 2,50,000 for weddings

If this new set of rules are too much for you to follow, a look at this tweet might help you

With rules changed everyday, people wonder who is handling it
