Govt raises minimum export price of onion

In June, the MEP was cut by $25 a tonne to boost onion exports.
However, with retail onion prices rising from Rs 6 to Rs 10 a kg in June, a decision has been taken to raise the MEP again.
The MEP, which is revised on a monthly basis, could be hiked further around mid July if retail onion prices continue to increase.
