Gowda May File Papers For Rs Polls On Sept 18

According to a cabinet minister, Gowda is scheduled to visit Karnataka on September 17 and would file his papers the next day. The Karnataka assembly is to elect a member to the Rajya Sabha following the resignation of Leela Devi R Prasad after she was declared elected earlier this year.

Prasad, a minister in both Deve Gowda and JH Patel governments was elected to the Rajya Sabha along with expelled Janata Dal leader RK Hegde and Union Civil Avia-tion Minister CM Ibrahim.
