Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) president Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who is also a member of the Lok Sabha, has urged Chief Minister Bansi to review the implementation of prohibition in the state with all political parties.

Of course, people of Haryana have been in favour of prohibition, but the Haryana Vikas Party (HVP)-Bharatiya Janata Party coalition government has failed in the implementation of the policy, Hooda told newsmen on Thursday.

The state Congress chief, who represents Rohtak in the Lower House of Parliament, said: The fact is that prohibition has created more problems in Haryana. Now a mafia, consisting of members of the ruling party and the bureaucracy has come into being in the state. If it is not checked immediately, this mafia, which is indulging in the smuggling of liquor all over the state, can create havoc. Haryana is heading for a serious law and order problem and within three years a Bihar like situation will be created in the state.

Hooda claimed that the popularity graph of the Congress was once again on the rise in Haryana. According to him, the partys membership has gone up three times in the state. Earlier, the party had seven lakh members in the state and now we are going to easily cross 20 lakh. There has been an overwhelming response among the party workers and the people to our membership drive, he said.
