The new party has already begun discussions with various political groups for a possible alliance to ensure the defeat of the Janata Dal. According to Srikantamurthy, the new political party would be fielding its own candidates in most of the 100 wards in Bangalore city corporation polls scheduled for October 27, while entering into seat adjustments with other political parties for polls in the coastal and other areas.
it is a temporary arrangement and the party will merge with the national political party to be founded by R K Hegde as and when it becomes a reality, they added. RNNV has decided to ensure defeat of ruling Dal nominees in all but one (Yelaburga) of eight seats for which bypoll would take place on October 11. Since the Dal candidate in Yelaburga is the personal choice of the Loksabha member Basavaraja Rayareddy, a Hegde supporter, the Vedike has decided to support him. But in the other constituencies, it has extended support to BJP, KCP and the Congress as well as two independents backed by BJP.
