Hry to focus on health services

Haryana Finance Minister Capt Ajay Singh said the state government was actively considering to set up a polyclinic at Dharuhera so that prompt services could be provided to the injured persons as the town is situated on the Delhi-Jaipur- National Highway No. 8.

The minister said that Dharuhera was emerging a industrial hub and a number of multinational companies had set up their units and more had evinced interest in setting up their units at Dharuhera in Rewari district. He said about Rs 15 to Rs 20 crore revenue was received annually in form of taxes from Daruhera and it was the responsibility of the state to provide better care health facilities to the workers working in the industrial area.

He further said that at present only one primary health centre was operational at Dhrauhera to cater to the need of the people. He maintained that the people of the town were persistently demanding to set up a hospital in the town so that better healthcare facilities could be provided to them.

He added the health services at the doorstep was the priority of the state government and three medical colleges were being set up in Mewat, Faridabad and Karnal districts. Besides, extention of All India Institute of Medical Sciences was also being set up in Jhajjar district. He further said that the state was providing healthcare facilities to the people through 52 hospitals, 94 community health centers, 441 primary health centres and 2,465 health sub centres, besides 20 district TB hospitals and 51 dispensaries were functioning in the state.
