Robbers struck at the Mumbai airport on Monday around 1130 am, looting 145 kilograms of gold and silver coins from the airport's cargo terminal. One security guard was injured, reports the Press Trust of India.
In a statement, Air-India said that round 11.30 a.m. this morning, 3 to 4 armed intruders entered Air India cargo booking area at Mumbai Airport. At this time officials of Pidilite Industries were in the process of booking six parcels of gold and silver coins weighing 145 kgs.
After booking the parcels these were taken for security screening. While two parcels were screened, four men with loaded guns came in a car, threatened the staff, overpowered the security and fled away with four parcels. The security guard Mr S. Bhosle, who was injured, has been taken to hospital.
