It has taken up special repair work of old military road near village Ravana lying within the KIC. It faced a major problem last week when one of its supervisors Harmohan Nayak was physically assaulted by some unidentified persons.

The incident occurred when Nayak reportedly pointed out about certain specification deficiency in the work to the field staff of the contractors.

Nayak was allegedly assaulted by the field staff of the contractor, who has been entrusted with this work. He was admitted to the local Dangadi hospital for treatment and later shifted to Bhubaneswar. The local divisional head of IDCO has lodged a FIR with the Jakhapura police station.

The same day, P K Panda, one Junior Engineer working with IDCO, was abducted from the work site by a group of people belonging to the nearby village while inspecting the water supply work of Gobarghati rehabilitation colony. He was kept in confinement till he was rescued by the officials of IDCO.

The matter was reported to the superintendent of police, Jajpur by the managing director, IDCO for taking necessary remedial measures, according to a release issued by the company.
