Despite a rise in the prices of primary products, the rate of inflation fell for the fourth consecutive week, shedding 0.13 per cent to touch 5.9 per cent during the week ended May 10.

Inflation was 1.62 per cent in the corresponding period last year and 6.03 per cent during the previous week.

Though the wholesale price index (WPI) remained unchanged at the previous week
