Kutch to get first ayurveda college

| "A three-members team of the state medical department visited the place and gave the no-objection certificate to the college. We are planning to start the college from the coming academic year with a total strength of 100 students in the initial stage. |
| "The college will be affiliated to the Gujarat Ayurved University of Jamnagar," Mukesh Zaveri, chief co-ordinator of the project told Business Standard. |
| The total area of 15 acre in Bhuj near the Kutch University campus consists of a hospital and a botanical garden. The college will be named after Jai Krishna Indrajit, a renowned botanist from the district. |
| At present, Kutch Vidya Pratistan runs an ayurvedic hospital in the district. " We decided to set up a college to provide good facilities in the hospital. We also have plans to built a new building for the hospital," said Zaveri. |
| The trust also runs a commerce college in Nakhshatrana. |
| "Each year, many students go to other states to study. I think the new college will be beneficial to them," an official of the Ayurvedic University of Jamnagar said. |
| Initially, the college will enroll students only for one course in the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) offered by the Gujarat Ayurved University. |
