Manufacturing Lifts Industrial Output Up 5.7% In August

Industrial growth was 5.7 per cent in August 2002, as compared to 4.9 per cent in the corresponding month last fiscal.

The growth in the index of industrial production (IIP) dipped after touching the 6.4 per cent mark in July 2002, but this was mainly on account of a high base effect.
