As the UPA emerged ahead as per the latest trends, DMK leader Dayanidhi Maran today hoped that the alliance will get another term in office and Manmohan Singh will be Prime Minister.
"Thanks to the people of Tamil Nadu for being decisive. People have given a clear verdict," he said here reacting to trends that put DMK-Congress combine ahead in 16 seats of the 39 in the state.
The combine had swept all 39 seats in the 2004 elections.
Overall, the UPA was ahead in 198 seats of the 420 for which trends were available.
"I give credit to the DMK government in Tamil Nadu. The mandate... Is clear," said Maran, former Communication and IT Minister.
