The names of eminent persons, except for two for the 10-member Presidency Mentor Committee set up by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to revive the glory of Presidency University, were announced today.
The distinguished members who would provide their expertise were Dr I J Ahluwalia from the Indian Council of Research on International Economic Relations, Prof Abhijit Banerjee from MIT, Swapan Chakraborty Director of National Library, Sukanta Chowdhury emeritus professor of English in Jadavpur University, Himadri Pakrashi from Washington University and Ashok Sen from Allahabad University. "I have been able to take the consent of these members, while the remaining two names will soon be made public after their consent is available," historian Sugata Bose, who is the committee chairman told reporters here after a meeting with the chief minister.
