Indigenous denim brand Numero Uno will expand its retail presence in Uttar Pradesh in the current fiscal.
The company will open 7 exclusive stores and rope in 25-odd Multi Brand Outlets (MBOs) by March 2010.
“At present, we have 12 Numero Uno stores and 75 MBOs, including 10 shop-in-shop concepts in UP,” company’s Business Head (Distribution) Vivek Saraswat told Business Standard.
By year-end, the company is targetting a total exclusive store count of 150 pan India. Besides apparels, the company is also present in the accessories segment, including perfumes, caps, belts and shoes, which form less than 10 per cent of the turnover.
The company is further planning to strengthen its footwear vertical and open 20 exclusive footwear stores across the country.
Recently, Numero Uno has forayed into ornament segment and launched female ornament line in Delhi outlets to gauge the market response.
“Depending upon the feedback, we will start retailing this product line in other outlets by December,” Saraswat added.
