Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy said the performance of the newly-inducted 35 ministers would be reviewed every three months. He also asked the ministers and the elected representatives to mandatorily attend the legislature sessions.

At the first Cabinet meeting after the swearing-in, the chief minister made it clear that those not attending the legislature would be asked to give in their resignation.

They should be present in the Assembly by 8.30 am and then proceed to the council as per the roster. They should also know the situation at the district level first hand by touring districts and prepare the response by anticipating the problems.

Finance minister K Rosaiah briefed the media about the decisions taken at the Cabinet meeting. According to him, the new ministers have been briefed about the various irrigation projects that have been initiated and the focus would be on completing them. Also, the new government would work to provide nine hours power to the agriculture sector and 30 kg rice to white ration cardholders.

The state government is working to get Sujala Sravanti, Pranahita-Chevella, Damugudem tailpond project and one more project recognised as national projects to reduce the burden on the state exchequer.
