Police used mild cane charge to control the agitating farmers over the distribution of seeds at Chikhli in bordering Buldhana district yesterday, said the official sources.
The pandemorium erupted over the improper distribution of seeds among the farmers when 1600 bags of seeds under prime minister package system were being distributed.
Besides that, the famrers were seen forming serpentine qeues at Agro-service centre at bordering Washim to get fertilisers yesterday, they added.
Adequate security arrangements were made to avoid any untoward incident during the distribution process, they said.
Similarly, three persons were injured in a stampede at Pinjar village in Akola district at the time of seeds distribution.
In bordering Marthwada region at Nanded city police used lathi charge over the agitating farmers who ransacked some shops.
