Prosecution today sought postponement of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack trial from March 23 to April 13 citing security arrangements at the makeshift court in the Arthur Road jail.

In an application filed before the special sessions court here, the prosecution said it was seeking postponement as fortification of the court inside the Arthur Road jail in central Mumbai was not yet complete.

The lone terrorist caught alive in the attack, Mohammad Ajmal Amir Kasab, is among the persons who will face trial.

Special Judge M L Tahilyani would pass the order on this application on March 23.

The judge also said that trial could begin in the sessions court complex in south Mumbai and Kasab can appear through video conferencing from the Arthur Road jail.

The Public Works Department had sent a letter to the city crime branch, seeking time till April 12 to complete the construction inside Arthur Road jail.
