Raise in healthcare allocation a positive step: Sunita Maheshwari

The raise of 20% in allocation for healthcare has been hailed as "a step in the right direction" by Dr Sunita Maheshwari, co-founder, Teleradiology Solutions. She said that it will be interesting "how this will be achieved and ideally the government would do well to focus on insurance schemes and creating public private partnerships to utilise the existing government health care machinery".

She also expressed happiness at the expansion of scope of Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana in Union Budget and termed it "a very good move" as it will improve the medical safety net of millions more who are under the below poverty line.
