Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje has come down heavily on UPA for "failing" to take any concrete measure to combat terrorism.
Addressing a public meeting at Bundi yesterday, Raje said, "It is unfortunate that the UPA government is unable to frame any foolproof law to contain the increasing terror activities in the country which posed a great challenge."
"Terrorists and terrorism have no religion or caste and stringent laws should be framed to foil their attempt to spread hatred," she said.
Accusing the UPA government of "callous attitude" over the serial blasts in the state capital, the chief minister said the Centre has shirked its responsibility by saying that it had informed the state government about the bomb threat "which was not true".
At a separate public meeting in Kota, Raje said she is "not afraid" of the Congress' criticism about the implementation of the 'Bhamshah women empowerment programme' in the state.
The programme is meant for the upliftment of women and has benefited many people, she said.
The chief minister assured the members of the Akhil Rajasthan State Karmachar Sanyukt Mahasangh (Ekakrit) who visited her residence yesterday that the government is "fully committed" for the welfare of its employees.
A high level committee has been set up to probe the "anomalies in promotion" of state government employees, she said.
