Rs 130cr flyover plan in pipeline

| Ashok Bhattacharjee, minister of urban development, government of West Bengal, said at the launch of a new joint venture involving KMDA, South City consortium and the Merlin Group that technical evaluation for the project will be completed within the next two months. |

| According to P R Baviskar, CEO of KMDA, the twin projects will involve an investment of Rs 130 crore. |
| The projects would be completed in two years and tenders for construction work would be floated after technical evaluation was over. |
| Recently, a new bridge constructed by KMDA near its housing-cum-commercial joint sector project 'Hiland Park' partly collapsed. |
| "The part that collapsed was built was Ircon and it has taken responsibility for repairing it," claimed Baviskar. |
| Another flyover would be built on Anwar Shah Road in south Kolkata to cope with the increased traffic caused by the South City project. |
| "KMDA is evaluating technical and financial aspects for the flyover," said Sushil Mohta, managing director of Merlin Group and also South City director. |
