In a development that will bolster the claim of the domestic cigarette lobby that the import of contraband cigarettes was on the rise, the preventive wing of the customs commissionerate, Mumbai, recently seized foreign brand cigarettes of over Rs 64 lakh imported under the garb of aluminium scrap by an Ahmedabad-based company.
