The Punjab preferred to give the first timers a chance to represent them as seven of the total 13 Lok Sabha representatives from the state got the mandate of the people this time.
The Congress leads the tally with five of its new faces getting the numbers to represent their constituencies in Lok Sabha. The ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) will be sending two new entrants to the lower house.
Partap Singh Bajwa (Gurdaspur), Mohinder Singh Kay Pee (Jalandhar reserve), Ravneet Singh Bittu (Anandpur Sahib), Manish Tewari (Ludhiana) and Vijay Inder Singla (Sangrur) — all new faces — will represent the Congress.
However, six old guards have also found the place of prominence in getting the electoral support in the state.
One of them is BJP's Navjot Singh Sidhu who will make his third time presence in parliament.
Former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh's wife and Congress candidate Preneet Kaur also made a hat-trick from Patiala Lok Sabha seat.
