He said eBiz is one of the ambitious project of the government towards further improving the ease of doing business in India.
"All services, all departments of central and state government are being brought on the same platform. But two have yet to come - environment and customs and excise. Rest everybody have joined. These two will have to join. There is no way that any service provider of department will be out of it," Sharma said here at a CII function.
As many as 26 central and 24 state services are integrated with the portal, but the Environment and Forest Ministry and the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) have some reservations about the project.
CBEC is under the Ministry of Finance. It deals with matters such as formulation of policy concerning levy and collection of customs and central excise duties and service tax.
EBiz will provide all business and investment related regulatory services across central, state and local governments on a single platform.
The project is one of the integrated mission mode projects under the National e-Governance Plan of the government.
The portal would help in transforming the business environment in the country by providing transparent and integrated electronic services to investors in the areas of information on forms and procedures, licenses, permits, registrations, approvals, clearances, payments and compliances throughout the life-cycle of an industry or business entity.
