The opposition Shiv Sena, which is making all-out efforts to regain its grip on the labour community, plans to launch protests against outsourcing.
“It is quite disappointing that banks and companies from automobiles, engineering, IT, manufacturing and aviation, to mention a few, are resorting to outsourcing. It is the buzz word. This is objectionable because organised labour and permanent employees are being neglected,” Sena leader Suryakant Mahadik told Business Standard.
“Under the name of outsourcing, banks and other companies are not giving due attention on fresh recruitments. What is disappointing is that in public sector banks, too, the trend in favour of outsourcing is rising. I have already sent a communication to the RBI Governor with a demand that banks should be told to recruit people with in-house expertise instead of adopting the outsourcing route.”
