AAP member Ashwini Upadhyaya and 2,400 workers resign
Press Trust Of India Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)'s national council member Ashwini Upadhyaya, expelled for "anti-party activities", on Monday, left the party with, he claimed, 2,400 other workers.
Talking to reporters in Lucknow, Upadhyaya alleged the ideology, with which the AAP was formed was lost and the common man was feeling cheated. He said 2,400 workers, including convenors of eight wards and 40 local in-charges, had resigned from the party.
Upadhayay questioned AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal for his stand on the Jan Lok Pal Bill issue. Adding, "Kejriwal resigned from the post of Delhi chief minister without a referendum. AAP fielded 455 candidates in tacit understanding with Congress to divide votes."
He alleged party senior Sisodia's Kabir Foundation was registered in 2007, but managed to get Rs 44 lakh in 2005 and Rs 32 lakh in 2006 from the Ford Foundation. Upadhyaya also asked why AAP made Yudhveer Singh, who gave a clean chit to Robert Vadra in a land acquisition deal, its candidate from Hisar.
