Closely after Narendra Modi government in Gujarat rebutted allegations leveled by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal with regard to development in the state, billionaire Mukesh Ambani promoted Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) on Wednesday came out with a statement refuting accusations on the company. Kejriwal has been alleging in his public speeches that Gujarat government acquired farmer’s land and gave it to at cheaper rates to industrialists like Ambani and (Gautam) Adani.

In a statement issued by RIL it has been stated, “One allegation that is making rounds is that Gujarat government bought cheap land from farmers and gave it to Reliance Industries at concessional rates, however the facts are completely opposite.” Though the company did directly name Kejriwal, but clearly pointed at allegations made by the AAP leader.

It clarified that “More than 90 per cent of land that we acquired for our plants in Gujarat have been bought directly from farmers. The price that we paid to the farmers was more than the market rates. We have not violated any rules in the process of acquiring land and all rules have been followed.”
