Anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare on Wednesday distanced himself from making any comments on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Shazia Ilmi showing disinterest in contesting against Congress president Sonia Gandhi from Rae Bareli, which has created rumblings within the AAP.
"What should I say, I cannot make any comment on that," Anna said.
AAP leader Shazia Ilmi on Tuesday sought to quell speculation that she would be pitted against Congress president Sonia Gandhi in the Lok Sabha polls, saying she has "never agreed" to contest from Rae Bareli.
"I am not contesting from Rae Bareli. I never agreed to nor do I now ... I've been denying this for the last two months," Ilmi wrote on Twitter.
