Chhattisgarh chief pilot's D S Mishra is on the ground; taking a new flight that will land him in the Odisha legislative assembly provided the landing goes smooth.

The most trusted man of Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh on air, Dibya Sankar Mishra has quit the position as chief pilot of state government.

The decision was taken to start a new sortie; to enter into the electoral politics.

He is contesting the state polls from Junagarh assembly constituency that comes under the Kalahandi region of Odisha. The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has fielded him as an official candidate from Junagarh where Mishra has been active since last many years.

Taking time out of his hectic schedule to fly the Chhattisgarh who's who, Mishra has been visiting the region and participating in public programme besides leading movement also. His active role in the region that adjoins Chhattisgarh has sent overt signal that Mishra's days on air were numbered.

A senior BJP leader confirmed to Business Standard that in the last assembly polls (2009), Mishra has pulled all the strings to contest the state polls from Junagarh on lotus symbol.

Even Raman Singh did all he could to get him party ticket. But luck did not favour Mishra on BJP forum.

Now when Mishra is contesting the state polls in Odisha, Chhattisgarh can feel its impact.
