The boards of both the banks have passed resolutions to this effect.
The merger is likely to result in a loss to the tune of Rs three crore to the Surat Peoples Bank, the oldest and the biggest cooperative bank in south Gujarat, as the Adajan Bank has lost this amount in the Home Trade scam.
