IDBI Bank will be opening 40 branches by the end of this fiscal. The addition will take the total number of the bank's outlets in the country to 100.
Ajay Bimbhet, head of retail banking, said: "With as many as 60 branches already in place, our focus is now on the smaller cities. We are consciously expanding presence in non-metro cities to establish the market leadership in such cities, on a pan-India basis." Bimbhet was in the city today to inaugurate the bank's 60th branch.
IDBI Bank has undertaken a brand-building exercise, whereby it has changed its logo to reflect a technology savvy bank.
To reflect its customer orientation, the bank has printed "What can I do for you?" on visiting cards of every employee.
The new brand-building exercise will involve projecting IDBI Bank as a one-stop banking solution for middle class as well as customers of higher income bracket.
In a bid to pull customers, the bank will also provide specialised services in areas where there is demand.
With as many as 90 ATMs in place, IDBI Bank is also in the process of providing non-cash related services such as telephone and other bill payment facilities through them.
