The management felt that the recommendation to restructure the organisation with its 2,048 branches and operate the same on the lines of strategic business units (SBUs) will not be feasible.
Chairman S B Mathur was not available for comment, senior LIC officials said the proposal to set up SBUs will affect the operations of the branches.
