Outlook: The rupee is expected to open between 45.84 and 45.89 against the greenback on Thursday.

• The rupee opened at 45.90/91 per dollar and ended higher at 45.8550/8650.
• Premiums on forward dollars rose sharply. Annualised premiums on six-month and one-year dollars closed at 2.45 per cent and 2.14 per cent respectively.

• Government security prices slid across the board on surging global oil prices and falling liquidity in the banking system.
• Prices fell by 20 paise across all maturities.
• The yield curve has turned negative. While the ten-year paper is yielding 6.51 per cent, the 11-year gilt is returning 6.45 per cent.
• Call money rates moderated to 4.60 per cent.
• Repo outstandings stood at Rs 8,000 cr.
