SBI set to expand in UP

State Bank of India is considering expanding its network in Uttar Pradesh.

The bank is planning to add 162 branches in the state by March next year.

The new branches will primarily be in the rural and semi urban centers of the state. With the new additions the bank will increase its present portfolio of around 1033 branches in the circle to 1195.

As per the latest Reserve Bank of India data for June this year, the Bank has shown an increased market share in both deposits and advances.

According to the data, the market share in deposits for SBI Lucknow Circle increased in one quarter by 129 basic points.

Similarly, in advances the market share increased by 64 basic points.
