The Union Minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers, Shri Ananth Kumar held a meeting to review the progress of implementation of Assam Gas Cracker Project being implemented at Lepetkata, Dibrugarh. Taking serious note of the delay in the completion of the project he directed all concerned to achieve the mechanical completion of the project by November, 2014 and commissioning by June, 2015. The project undertaken by the Brahmaputra Crackers and Polymers Limited (BCPL) has achieved an overall physical progress of 97.8%. so far. Heads of other implementing agencies namely GAIL, OIL, NRL, Govt. of Assam, EIL and BHEL also attended the meeting.
