The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has issued draft Notification GSR 532(E) dated 24th July, 2014 to amend Rule 62 of Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 for fitment of under run protection devices side guard in the goods vehicles of N2 and N3 category which will allow opportunity for State Transport Authorities to ensure that the vehicles shall have rear under run protection device and side guard at the time of renewal of fitness certificate. Final Notification will be issued after compilation and examination of the comments/suggestions received on the draft Notification.
