India’s first Vocational Education University - TeamLease Skills University on Friday announced opening of admissions for academic year 2014-15.  

The first batch will commence from last week of June 2014, a statement issued by TeamLease Services said.

Vikrant Pande has been appointed as the Provost of TeamLease Skills University. He has 22 years of experience in building and running various organizations.

Commenting on Pande’s appointment, Ashok Reddy, managing director, TeamLease Services said, “At TLSU, we aspire to create an education system that keeps employers at the heart of the curriculum. With Pande’s profound expertise and knowledge in education as well as corporate sector, we are confident that he will be able to establish TLSU as the most effective and productive vocational training institute.”

Before taking charge at TLSU, Pande, an alumnus of Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B), was responsible for managing and building various MNC brands from scratch.

In his current role at TLSU, he will be responsible for building, directing and leading the team and also play an essential role in imparting and motivating knowledge to each of the students present, the statement said.

TeamLease Services, a composite staffing solutions company, has given jobs to more than 15 lakh youth over the last 10 years and has emerged as one of India's largest private sector employers. The company currently has over 85,000 employees on its rolls in over 1,400 locations across the country, working for more than 1,200 clients. The varsity is located at Tarsali in the southern part of Vadodara city.
