The first cluster of the Summer Internship Placement process for the PGP batch of 2013-15 was held on Friday at the IIM-A campus. The firms which visited the campus as part of Cluster 1 comprised three cohorts - global strategy consulting, international investment banks and investment management firms.
"We at, The Boston Consulting Group, believe in attracting, retaining and developing the brightest young people and are very proud of our long and successful association with IIM Ahmedabad. We were the largest recruiter at the IIMA campus with 14 summer internship offers being made there. We continue to be the most preferred recruiter across top business schools in India," the company stated in an official communique.
Along with BCG, more than 25 firms participated in cluster one. The other prominent recruiters included Accenture Management Consulting, A.T. Kearney, Bain & Co., Barclays, Citi, Goldman Sachs, McKinsey & Co., Standard Chartered, etc. Altisource-Ocwen offered multiple roles in investment research at international locations.
BCG has also emerged the largest consulting recruiter for summer placements at the IIM, Bangalore (IIM-B) where the company made 15 offers to students for summer internships.
The summer placements process at IIM-A began on Friday with the first of the four clusters even as other clusters are set to follow in the coming days. According to IIM-A, clusters 2, 3 and 4 will be held on November 12, November 16, and November 19, respectively.
