Hewlett Packard (HP) Educational Services alongwith Ahmedabad-based CEON Solutions, has set a target of reaching around 10 higher education institutions in Gujarat for providing enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions.

CEON Solutions, a startup company incubated at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A)'s Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE), offers 'iCampus' which provides an integrated campus run through a single software hosted in a US-based server.

"The product iCampus will provide an online platform for all activities on campus and its various tools are designed to achieve e-ducation, transparency, accountability and e-Governance in institutes. While Ganpat University has purchased the product and is implementing it, we are targeting other institutes as well," said Chinmay Shah, director of Crescent Electronics Private Limited, a partner of CEON Solutions.

"On one hand, CEON will provide the software including educational modules, while HP, on the other, will provide the server infrastructure to support the system," said Zuber Khan, technical client consultant of HP Educational Services.

On an average, an institute can avail 10 modules of iCampus alongwith one HP server at a total cost of ownership of Rs 25 lakhs, said Shah.

iCampus has many analytical, data mining and decision making tools designed to bridge the gap between internal, external users as well as between departments. Among several institutes in Gujarat that CEON has approached for iCampus include IIM-A, National Institute of Design (NID), Gujarat University, Nirma University and Chandragupta Institute of Management.

According to Shah, varying modules requirements of different institutes can take up the total cost of ownership of iCampus to around Rs 40 lakh.

CEON Solutions provides integrated Education Process Management Solutions and Consultancy to educational Institutes.

The company already has a similar product for schools called i-School, a knowledge-based software package for schools, besides an NGO Resource Planning Solutions and Police Inventory Management software.
