The new facility, set up with the support of Murugappa Group and Kothari Group, has the capacity to teach 2,000 students, but the the institute aims to enroll at least 10,000 students in the next five years.
"The newly inaugurated facility would be filled fully in the next couple of years. However, I have a dream that 10,000 students should complete their courses here by 2020," said N Vaghul, chairman of IFMR.
The institute would also have more courses by that time, and would focus on teaching important values in business and life.
