Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore has set up an Industry Interface Cell (IIC) to enhance industry academia partnership and solve general and complex problems faced by the industry.

The IIC is well equipped to handle all industry issues and will serve as a structured platform for interaction with the industry, feels the faculty.

“The purpose of IIC is to make sure that the institute gets closer to the industry and whatever is taught to the students becomes more relevant. So that, they start to feel more compatible when they actually enter the industry,” said Professor N M K Bhatta, Chairman, Industry Interface Committee.

Professor Bhatta added that the IIC also plans to offer affordable consultancy to small industries and resolve their issues as they can’t afford big consultants. This would be done with the help of either faculty members, students or the professionals who wish to volunteer for the same.

Faculty members feel that imparting relevant management education has always been the top most priority of IIM Indore.

“The main objective of creating the IIC is that the students are constantly linked to various industries and are aware of the tools which would help them when they enter the industry,” said Professor Rishikesha T Krishnan, Director, IIM Indore.
